What is Rising Damp?

Rising damp is a condition where moisture from the ground moves up through the walls of a building. This happens when water seeps into the foundation and rises through porous materials like bricks or block. The main causes include poor drainage, damaged or missing damp-proof courses, and high water tables in the area. Over time, rising damp can lead to damage like peeling paint, mold growth, and structural damage if not addressed.
